GAZEBO PLAYERS' JEAN ROBISON OFFERS ACTING WORKSHOPS |
|
|
Jean Robison, Education and Outreach Director for the Gazebo Players, will teach two acting workshops for the fall sessions of the Medfield Parks and Recreation Department, both to be held at the Pfaff Center. A three-week Acting Workshop for Adults and teenagers 14 and over will be offered on Saturdays, September 21 and 28, and October 5, from 10 a.m. to 11:30. It will focus on preparing the actor for auditions. Each participant will be required to bring a monologue to work on. Participants will read scenes from various plays to get the feeling of a cold reading. Vocal warm-ups, projection, making dramatic choices and more will be presented. Each participant will be coached as needed to prepare for mock auditions to be held on the last day of the workshop series. Other members of the Gazebo Players will attend this last session to simulate auditioning in front of a casting committee, and to offer feedback. The fee is $90, and enrollment will be limited to 20. Jean will also teach Acting for Youth, to be held on Tuesdays from September 24 through November 12, from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. for those in grades 4 through 8. In this program, participants will have the opportunity to develop a monologue, learn a scene with a partner, create characters and understand the motivation and intentions of the character. Jean will choose appropriate material to present a showcase for family and friends at the end of the session. The fee for the 8 weeks is $65, and enrollment will be limited to 20. |
